These are my first three projects of the semester, two bowls and one large bowl. For the first black bowl the art element is form, the bowl is very centered with good form and shape. The design element is unity and harmony, a aspect that the glaze lends to the project. For the second bowl, the blue and white one the design element is color, i really love how the glazing turned out, dripping is one of my favorites and a constant theme in my work. The art element is value, the lightness of the base contrasts with the darker blue drip and lends a pleasing contrast to the eye. For the last large bowl, the art element is space, i accidentally did a ugly brown/black glaze in the beginning so I covered it in white glaze and splatters purple glaze over that. The end result was a very pleasing contrast, which is the design element I've chosen for this project. The mood for all these is intriguing, they all work well as a contrasting set, and are currently at use in my house :)
