this is my team frankenpot, my team members were Riley and CJ. I made the base, Riley made the center, and CJ made the top. I really liked how it turned out. It is about 12 in tall and 4 in wide at the widest point. The design element is contrast and the art element is color.

These are my two plates, made with matching glaze using the sponge technique in black and green glaze. They both have foot rings and pulled lips. The design element is contrast between the light and dark. The art element is color, they are colorful and pleasing to the eye.
This is my set of three cups i made for my set of three. Most definitely the three favorite projects i have made all year. Sadly one of them was broken in the bisque kiln but other than that the other three turned out so well. I glazed them first in shadow green then dripped in black glaze. The design element is contrast. The art element is form, which they all have great form and handles.
This is my second choice project. It is a wheel vase made from red and white vashon clay. I mixed the two together before throwing them. I glazed it in simple white glaze in order to maintain the cool mixture of the red and white clay. I have really enjoyed using the red and yellow clay lately hopefully more of those to come. The art element i used is value, the contrast between the red and white, light and dark. The design element is harmony, the whole project together flows really well.
This is my multi wheel project. I made a franken pot by throwing two seperate pieces then putting them together the next day. It is 14" tall and 4" across. I glazed it in clear and then sponged on shadow green afer the clear had dried. The art element i used is form, it is a tall 3D shape. The design element is harmony, the two pieces fit together really well.
This is my closed form project. Its a jelly bean jar because i absolutely love jelly beans so i made a jar with a fitted lid just to hold them. I glazed it in sydney blue and used black to stain the insides of the letters so they stand out from the rest. The glaze on the lid and very top of the jar didn't take very well so i have reglazed it and its on the shelf to be fired right now. The art element used is shape the whole project is made using one solid piece of clay. The design element is harmony, the whole project is glazed in the blue to lend a smooth and finished texture which adds to the attractiveness of the piece as a whole.
This is my lidded project for the first quarter. One of my favorites that i have made so far. The lid is made using the double wall technique so that there is a indented hole to use to pick it up yet it doesn't show through. I really liked throwing this project, I feel as though this is some of my best work and i have gotten back into the swing of things in ceramics. The art element is shape, the project and the glaze used make is very asthetically pleasing. The design element is flow, the whole thing really comes together and looks great.
This is just something i threw for fun and it turned out super cute. I tried a new glazing technique by glazing it one the wheel with shadow green and tomato red. The art element is form and the design element is is balance.
This is my large bowl. Its a little late because I got confused with the rubric and thought that i had to do two small and one large bowl. So its done now and i am very happy with the way it turned out. Its 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches, glazed first in clear and black one the bottom, i also side dipped two thirds of it in shadow green. The art element used is line, the clean lines created by the simple glaze add to the uniqueness and design of the project. The design element is rhythmn, the project being split into thirds when looking from above. Two of those third are taken up the shadow green glaze. The mood is modern.
This is our group coil project, we made it using a combination of vashon white and vashon orange clay. It was made for Mandy to keep on her desk for holding pens and whatnot. This was a gorup effort for the most part although Riley was absent most of the time. Cj made the coils and i put them together. WE glazed it using brown and green. The art element is color, and the design element is form. The colors work well with the purpose of the project and the form is near perfect for a coil pot. Its not as tall as it could be but its ok.
